Oggi dopo lezione sono stata al parco con Cami a scattare queste foto. Poi sono tornata a casa e appena entrata sono stata apostrofata così dal mio coinquilino e grande amico: "Hai cuccato? Sembri molto felice". Sono scoppiata a ridere perchè stavo giusto pensando al tema del post di oggi e volevo proprio parlare di ottimismo.

Today I went to the park with Cami after our lectures in order to take these pictures. Then I came home and my flatmate and dear friend of mine, said to me: "Did you fancy someone? You look so happy". I laughed because I was precisely thinking about optimism as a possible theme of this post.

Tranquilli, non posterò nessun video imbarazzante in cui vestita da Pollon ballo la "Canzone della felicità"... Pensavo solo che post Glasgow sono diventata abbastanza metereopatica. Dopo mesi di pioggia il sole italiano mi colpisce ogni giorno. Mi prendono tutti in giro perchè è da un mese che ogni volta che esco, anche con 5 gradi, dico che mi sembra di andare in spiaggia!

Be calm and carry on, I'm not gonna post embarassing videos with me singing some "happiness song" while I'm wearing Pollon clothes... I was just thinking that I became a little bit methereopatic lately. After Glasgow and rain for months the Italian sun impresses me every day more. Everyone is kidding me because every time I go out, even with 5°, I say that for me it's like going to the beach!

Infatti devo stare molto attenta a come mi vesto perchè io sono la tipica persona che descriveva Cami nello scorso post, che appena sente un paio di gradi in più inizia a girare in maniere assolutamente inappropriate. Certo, il senza calze non l'ho azzardato ma mi sono già presa una bella tosse.

Therefore I need to be careful about what I'm wearing because I'm the kind of person Cami described in her last post, someone that wears inappropriate clothes as soon as the weather gets a little bit better. Of course I did not hang out without tights but I have a cough.

Comunque, tornando all'ottimismo di cui vi volevo parlare, pensavo che a volte un sorriso è molto meglio di un bel vestito. Come dicevamo oggi al parco, le fotografie riescono soltanto quando sei nello spirito giusto... Se non sei felice nella fotografia si vedrà. Così è anche per lo stile. Il segreto non sono i vestiti ma come si portano!!!

Anyway, sticking to optimism I wanted to talk about, I believe that sometimes a smile is far better than a nice dress. As we were saying today, we can take good pictures only when we are in the mood to do it... If we are not happy the picture will show it. It's the same for style: it's more about how you wear something than about what you're actually wearing!

Spero questo sentimento non mi abbandoni visto che la sessione di esami, la laurea e un'altra marea di cose da fare si avvicinano e di sorrisi me ne serviranno un sacco!!! E voi? Come state oggi?

I hope this feeling will not give up on me since exams and graduation are getting closer... I'm gonna need a lot of smiles!!! What about you? How are you doing today?

Back to the Future

Non sono impazzita. Ho deciso di chiamare questo post come uno dei miei film preferiti, Ritorno al Futuro, perchè ho scoperto iPhoto sul mio Mac e non vedevo l'ora di provare questo effetto antico sulle mie foto. Quindi ho scelto un outfit particolare e ho sperimentato. Cosa ne pensate?

I'm not going crazy, I promise. I decided to call this post as one of my favourite movies, Back to the Future, because I discovered iPhoto on my Mac and I couldn't wait to use this ancient effect on my pictures. Therefore I chose a particular outfit and I tried it. What do you think about it?

In queste settimane succedono molte cose. Primo io e Cami, entrambe a Milano, abbiamo nuovamente iniziato a essere sempre insieme, ragion per cui sono a dir poco euforica. Secondo si avvicina la settimana della moda e stiamo stilando un nostro personale calendario di eventi e sfilate a cui partecipare: ci sono arrivati diversi inviti e non vediamo l'ora di essere vostre inviate speciali!!!

A lot is going on during these weeks. First of all me and Cami, both in Milan, have started to meet everyday, reason why I'm beyond happy. Secondly it's almost the Fashion Week and we're drafting our personal calendar of fashion shows and events: we had several invitations and we can't wait to be your special correspondents!

Poi la nostra laurea si avvicina, inizieremo un nuovo ciclo di studi e... Non saprei, ma in generale sento una grande aria di cambiamento.

Moreover our graduation approaches, we'll start new studies and... I don't know, but I feel changes everywhere.

In genere le donne quando sentono il cambiamento cosa fanno? Si tagliano i capelli! Io dal parrucchiere ci sono stata ma non è di certo questa la conseguenza delle mie nuove sensazioni: i capelli li ho tagliati si e no 2 dita, ammonendo il povero parrucchiere sulla terribile vendetta che l'avrebbe aspettato se avesse tirato quella forbice più su ;)

What are generally doing women that feel changes? They cut their hair! Well, I got a hair cut but this is definitely not the consequence of my new sensations: my hair are more or less 2 cm shorter and I warned that poor hair dresser of my terrible revenge if he had cut too much ;)

Dunque, cosa faccio quando sento il cambiamento? Ma chiaro no? Compro una nuova borsa!!! Questa l'ho presa appena prima di tornare da Glasgow, è di Ted Baker ed è stato amore a prima vista. Sono semplicemente rimasta a guardarla a bocca aperta e ho deciso che, per stare in tema "Ritorno al futuro", "Lorraine, è il delfino che ci unisce... Voglio dire... Il destino!". So che non se lo ricorda mai nessuno ma è la mia battuta preferita del film :)

So, what am I doing when I feel changes? Isn't it clear? I buy a new bag!!! I bought this one just before coming back from Glasgow, it's by Ted Baker and it was love at first sight. I was just amazed and I decided that, sticking to the point "Back to the future", "Lorraine, my density has brought me to you... What I meant to say was... Your destiny!". I know noone reminds this but it's my favourite joke in the whole movie :)

Questa settimana ho comprato anche un paio di super zeppe da Zara, spuntate, color verde smeraldo... Non vedo l'ora di mostrarvele, magari in questa stagione così grigia in un look total black... Staremo a vedere!

I also bought some super emerald green wedges by Zara this week... I can't wait to show you, maybe with a total black outfit in this grey period... We'll see!

A really tough girl

Borchie, parka... Oggi mi sentivo davvero cattiva. Sarà la fine degli esami che non hanno sicuramente contribuito alla mia dolcezza, sarà il ritorno dall'Erasmus, ma fidatevi, con il mio gancio destro e delle armi come questi tacchi è meglio starmi lontano :)

Studs, military parka... Today I felt really tough. Maybe it was for my exams, maybe because I'm back from Glasgow but trust me: with my right punch and weapons like these heels it is definitely better to stay away from me :)

Parlando di Parka, questo è nuovo e l'ho trovato da Mango. Una cara amica l'aveva preso lì e me l'aveva consigliato ma non volendo prenderlo proprio identico ho pensato di fare prima un bel giro per altri negozi con Cami.

Speaking about Parka, this is new by Mango. A dear friend of mine bought it there but I did not want to buy the same and I thought about taking a look in other shops...

Sono stata da diverse parti, e la scena è stata più o meno la stessa. Sarà che ultimamente non siamo proprio fortunate (eh sì, era lo stesso giorno della disperata ricerca del cappello di Armani di cui vi parlava Cami un paio di post fa), sarà che le commesse non si sentono cattive come me e quindi non hanno mai avuto bisogno di un giubbetto militare, ma ecco che è successo...

I went in different places and what happened was almost the same. I think it is because we're not so lucky lately (yes, it was when Cami couldn't find her Armani hat), or maybe because the shop assistants didn't feel as tough as me and they did not need a military coat, but here's what happened...

La prima a cui l'ho chiesto ha guardato la sua collega ed è scoppiata a ridere. "Un cosa?" "Un Parka!" "mmmm... No non ce l'abbiamo!". Solo dopo ho realizzato che forse non sapevano di cosa parlassi. Così alla seconda ho ben specificato: "Un Parka, un giubbetto militare insomma!". Lei ha capito ma non ha potuto aiutarmi.

The first I asked to looked at her colleague and burst into laughter. "What??" "A parka?" "mmm... We don't have that!". After I realised they didn't know what I was talking about. So I said to the second one: "A Parka, a military coat!". She couldn't help me.

E dire che a me sembrava un termine così normale! Fatto sta che alla fine siamo state da Mango :)

La borsa invece l'ho presa da Zara a Glasgow... E' stato amore a prima vista, come mai prima. Ho aspettato un po' a comprarla, in uno di quei folli gesti alla Serendipity: "se è destino quando mi sentirò pronta sarà qui ad aspettarmi". Chiaramente la mia borsa non ha lasciato nessun libro in un mercatino dell'usato con uno scontrino per farsi ritirare (sarebbe comunque stato un gesto molto carino da parte sua) ma il fatto che dopo venti giorni io abbia trovato l'ultima della città mi è sembrato un chiaro segno del destino.

Switching to my bag it is from Zara in Glasgow. It was love at first sight, like never before. I waited a while to buy it, in one of that crazy gestures like Serendipity: "If it's destiny when I'll be ready it will be here waiting for me...". Well, it didn't leave a book in a second-hand market with a receipt to take it (but it would be reeeeaaally nice of it) but I think the fact that the last one of the entire city was there waiting for me after 20 days was a clear destiny sign.

Vi auguro un buon "resto della settimana", ma soprattutto un buon weekend... Uscite e divertitevi :)
