Back to the Future

Non sono impazzita. Ho deciso di chiamare questo post come uno dei miei film preferiti, Ritorno al Futuro, perchè ho scoperto iPhoto sul mio Mac e non vedevo l'ora di provare questo effetto antico sulle mie foto. Quindi ho scelto un outfit particolare e ho sperimentato. Cosa ne pensate?

I'm not going crazy, I promise. I decided to call this post as one of my favourite movies, Back to the Future, because I discovered iPhoto on my Mac and I couldn't wait to use this ancient effect on my pictures. Therefore I chose a particular outfit and I tried it. What do you think about it?

In queste settimane succedono molte cose. Primo io e Cami, entrambe a Milano, abbiamo nuovamente iniziato a essere sempre insieme, ragion per cui sono a dir poco euforica. Secondo si avvicina la settimana della moda e stiamo stilando un nostro personale calendario di eventi e sfilate a cui partecipare: ci sono arrivati diversi inviti e non vediamo l'ora di essere vostre inviate speciali!!!

A lot is going on during these weeks. First of all me and Cami, both in Milan, have started to meet everyday, reason why I'm beyond happy. Secondly it's almost the Fashion Week and we're drafting our personal calendar of fashion shows and events: we had several invitations and we can't wait to be your special correspondents!

Poi la nostra laurea si avvicina, inizieremo un nuovo ciclo di studi e... Non saprei, ma in generale sento una grande aria di cambiamento.

Moreover our graduation approaches, we'll start new studies and... I don't know, but I feel changes everywhere.

In genere le donne quando sentono il cambiamento cosa fanno? Si tagliano i capelli! Io dal parrucchiere ci sono stata ma non è di certo questa la conseguenza delle mie nuove sensazioni: i capelli li ho tagliati si e no 2 dita, ammonendo il povero parrucchiere sulla terribile vendetta che l'avrebbe aspettato se avesse tirato quella forbice più su ;)

What are generally doing women that feel changes? They cut their hair! Well, I got a hair cut but this is definitely not the consequence of my new sensations: my hair are more or less 2 cm shorter and I warned that poor hair dresser of my terrible revenge if he had cut too much ;)

Dunque, cosa faccio quando sento il cambiamento? Ma chiaro no? Compro una nuova borsa!!! Questa l'ho presa appena prima di tornare da Glasgow, è di Ted Baker ed è stato amore a prima vista. Sono semplicemente rimasta a guardarla a bocca aperta e ho deciso che, per stare in tema "Ritorno al futuro", "Lorraine, è il delfino che ci unisce... Voglio dire... Il destino!". So che non se lo ricorda mai nessuno ma è la mia battuta preferita del film :)

So, what am I doing when I feel changes? Isn't it clear? I buy a new bag!!! I bought this one just before coming back from Glasgow, it's by Ted Baker and it was love at first sight. I was just amazed and I decided that, sticking to the point "Back to the future", "Lorraine, my density has brought me to you... What I meant to say was... Your destiny!". I know noone reminds this but it's my favourite joke in the whole movie :)

Questa settimana ho comprato anche un paio di super zeppe da Zara, spuntate, color verde smeraldo... Non vedo l'ora di mostrarvele, magari in questa stagione così grigia in un look total black... Staremo a vedere!

I also bought some super emerald green wedges by Zara this week... I can't wait to show you, maybe with a total black outfit in this grey period... We'll see!

Ahhh, l'amore. Argomento di cui parlano tutti e su cui nessuno riesce mai a capire nulla. Beh, io una cosa grazie a Oscar l'ho capita: se è per amore posso peccare senza che nessuno fiati, e si sa, l'amore è versatile...

Who sins for love doesn't sin at all. This is what Wilde used to say. And love is something we can't really understand, so I just trust him... You can do anything you want if it's for this noble feeling.

è talmente versatile che si riversa anche su oggetti di consumo. Su anelli, per esempio. Oh, insomma, arrivo al dunque e vi presento il mio nuovo anello a pasticcino firmato Luna By Oldani, comprato online su questo sito. E' dolce (e anche abbastanza gustoso... Sarà che è quasi ora di cena ma mi fa venire l'acquolina in bocca!).

That's precisely why I bought this pastry ring Luna by Oldani... It's sweet and tasty enough: ok, it's dinner time, but it makes me so hungry!!

Non solo verso di lui provo senza dubbio un amore incondizionato ma ha pure scritto sopra "Je t'aime". Tutto un insieme di romanticherie, e quando il destino chiama non è buona educazione non rispondere. In più, presa dalla depressione post erasmus (ebbene sì, sono tornata milanese in via definitiva) avevo proprio bisogno di un regalo.

It's not just that I adore it, it's also that sentence, "Je t'aime"... It felt sooo right for me. Moreover I'm in post erasmus depression and I really needed a gift.

Ma passiamo dal regalo post erasmus al regalo post partenza da erasmus di Ottobre e che ancora non vi avevo mostrato, il mio cappottino by Urban Outfitters. Come vi avevo accennato l'anno scorso cercavo da tempo un Montgomery e questa originale versione navy mi ha fatto impazzire. Che ne pensate? La borsa era invece un regalo estivo di Pinko trovata nei saldi... Ma quanto sono generosa a parlare di tutti questi regali? Mi viene quasi voglia di averne un altro :)

Anyway, let's switch to another present, an old one, my blue coat by Urban Outfitters. I was desperately looking for a duffle coat since a long time ago and this original navy version made me crazy. What do you think? Speaking about my Pinko bag it was a summer gift found during sales... How generous am I, speaking about all these gifts? I feel like having some others :)

Ieri sono andata da Armani, volevo chiedere quando sarebbero arrivati i cappelli visti nella sfilata... Non so se avete presente, ma sono la fine del mondo! Beh comunque entro nel negozio e chiedo alla prima commessa che mi dice di domandare al reparto accessori (situato a ben 10m dalla sua posizione); un po'sconvolta mi sposto ma è desolato quindi vado nel reparto uomo( altri 10m).... Richiedo quando arrivano questi dannati cappelli e si ripete la stessa scenetta: vai a chiedere nel reparto accessori... spiegando che non c'è anima viva, sentite sentite la reazione: "ok, vengo io!" seguo la commessa sempre più incredula e arrivata vicino alla borse mi fa "Cosa aveva bisogno signorina?" STAI SCHERZANDO VERO?!?

Yesterday I went to Armani to ask for the hats I've seen in the fashion show... They are simply amazing! Anyway I asked to the shop assistant and she told me to ask at the accessory department (about 10m from where she was). There was anyone there so I went to the men department asking again for the same thing and receiving again the same answer: "Go to the accessories' department!". I explained that I couldn't find a soul there, so this men department shop assistant decided to help me and she came with me to the accessory department. "What do you need again?". Ok. Are you kidding, right???

Ma passiamo all'incompetente numero 2 incontrato nelle ultime settimane: l'assistente di statistica. Dovevo risolvere dei dubbi al suo colloquio, alla prima domanda mi risponde che non sa... Lui non sa?!? Lui che è l'assistente non sa rispondermi a una misera domanda?? Dopo la mia incredulità ha cercato di giustificarsi: "ma, ma io sinceramente non sono l'assistente vero del professore, cioè io mi occupo della parte informatica"... Ora io vi assicuro che non c'è assolutamente nessuna differenza, in un caso è il computer a fare i calcoli e nel mio caso ovviamente bisognava farli a mano, consolante sapere che l'assistente non sa applicare una formula con la sua testolina perchè di solito ci pensa il computer!

Switching to the second incompetent I met in the last few weeks: the Statistical assistant. I had some doubts but he didn't know how to solve them. How am I supposed to know if you-the assistant-don't??? He tried to justify himself in front of my disbelief: "Actually I'm not the real real assistant, I just deal with computers!". Well, here's the explanation: you don't know how to do calculations because computers do them for you, don't you????

Passiamo al numero 3 durante i saldi nei miei giretti per negozi stavo cercando un tailleur... Così quando ho finalmente trovato la giacca dei miei sogni chiedo alla commessa se aveva il pantalone da abbinarci... "Sig.na ma vuole lo stesso modello per il tailleur" "No guardi, in realtà lo cercavo rosa con delle righe gialle" "oh mi scusi, non ce lo abbiamo" -.-

Finally, number 3. I was looking for a suit during sales. When I finally found the jacket of my dreams I asked to the shop assistant if they had pants to go with it... "Do you want the same model miss?" "No, actually I was looking for a pink with yellow stripes model!" "We haven't it, sorry about that!" -.-

Io non ho parole. Volevo comunque mostrarvi uno dei miei acquisti di quest'estate: questo meraviglioso abito lungo di Urban Outfitters, cosa ne pensate??

Ci arroveliamo spesso su quanto la vita sia complicata senza mai veramente capire che è questo arrovellarsi che la rende così. A volte basterebbe un sorriso in più a una sconosciuta anziana signora, un gesto gentile per renderla semplicemente perfetta.

Oggi, dopo un temibile esame di business finance la mia coinquilina Julie mi ha detto: "You're too hard with yourself". E ho deciso che aveva ragione. Così mi sono vestita esattamente come mi sentivo, aggiungendo un paio di cosette che volevo proprio farvi vedere :)

Today, after an hard exam of business finance, my flatmate Julie told me: "You are too hard with yourself". I decided she was right. So I dressed like I felt, adding a couple of things that I wanted you to see.

Prima cosa i miei occhiali da sole, vi piacciono? Li ho presi da Topman per 2 pounds nei saldi. Dovete sapere che vado pazza per questo negozio, ci ho anche comprato un paio di pantaloni che mi fanno impazzire...

First of all my sunglasses, do you like them? I bought them in Topman, 2 pounds (sale :P).

You have to know that I'm going crazy for this shop, I bought a pair of pants as well.

Allora, è andata così. Arrivata a Glasgow mi giravo ogni qual volta vedevo passare un ragazzo. No, aspettate, non sono una stalker. è solo che avevano tutti questi pantaloni, con cui vi assicuro è stato amore a prima vista. Poi i pantaloni sono preferibili agli uomini perchè se li compri sono della tua taglia e non li mette nessun altro! In ogni caso alla fine me li sono presi :)

It was like that: I was just arrived in Glasgow and I looked every guy. No, wait, I'm not a stalker.

It's just that they all had these pants, it was love at first sight. I prefer pants to men: if you buy them they're just your size and no one else can wear them! I had to have them :)

Altra cosa da mostrarvi era la mia collana con il simbolo della pace, Urban Outfitters. E finalmente... La nuova cover per il mio iPhone! So che è trash, ma mi ha detto Ale... "Se devi essere trash devi esserlo seriamente!"

Something else that I wanted to show you was my necklace, Urban Outfitters. And finally... The new cover for my iPhone! I know that is trash, but as Ale told me: "if u wanna be trash you have to be serious about that!"

Essendomi resa conto che manca davvero poco alla fine del mio erasmus e che non ho visto la metà delle cose che avrei voluto ho scelto la Necropoli come location. Al tramonto (ebbene sì, alle tre del pomeriggio) è semplicemente fantastica. Vorrei apprezzaste l'atleticità delle mie gesta, non sapete i numeri per salire su questo mausoleo!

I haven't so much time 'til the end of my erasmus and I didn't see half places I wanted to. That's why I chose the necropolis as location. It was the sunset (yes, at 3 pm), and it was amazing. You should appreciate my athleticism and my climber skills 'cause it's not going to happen again!

Vivo sul filo dell'illegalità. Chissà se mi avessero beccato! Comunque, Ale mi ha preso sulle spalle e mi ha issata.... Siamo dei veri duri.

I live on the edge of lawlessness. What if someone catched me? Anyway Ale took me on his shoulder and I did it. We are rough.

Ora vado a mangiare. Sarà una dura serata, sono a dieta e i miei coinquilini si sfonderanno di pizza.

I've to eat now. It's going to be a difficult night, I'm on a diet and my flatmates will eat loads of pizza.

Aggiunta testo qualche ora dopo: "Ehm. Hanno comprato una pizza anche per me, così l'ho mangiata!". Sì. vivo decisamente sul filo dell'illegalità e spero che la mamma non veda questo post!

Several hours later: "hem. They bought pizza for me as well, so I ate it!". Yes. I live on the edge of the lawlessness and I hope my mom won't read this post!

Hey there! How are you? Here everything is brilliant. My mom and my sister visited me a couple of days ago and I showed them everything that I think it worth :)

Buonasera? Come state? Qui va tutto una meraviglia. Mia mamma e mia sorella sono venute a trovarmi qualche giorno fa e le ho portate in tutti i miei posti preferiti :)

I brought them to eat in some places, to shop in the main shopping street and I introduced them to my friends. It was really funny! It's weird to show to someone so close to you a life that they barely know...

Le ho portate a mangiare in posti tipici, fare shopping nella via principale e le ho presentate ai miei amici: è stato molto divertente! E' davvero strano mostrare a qualcuno così vicino a te una vita di cui ancora non sa niente...

I'm really excited for Halloween. There is an amazing atmosphere here and everyone is waiting for monday, looking for original costumes; every shop has something really strange to wear and in the supermarkets there are a lot of decorations.

Non vedo l'ora sia Halloween. C'è una bellissima atmosfera e tutti stanno aspettando lunedì, cercando costumi originali; ogni negozio vende qualcosa di strano e i supermarket sono pieni di strane decorazioni.

Tomorrow I'll go in the city centre with a friend, hunting the perfect dress... I will show you the pictures!

Domani andrò in centro con un'amica a caccia del vestito perfetto... Vi mostrerò le foto!


Moreover, I'm taking advantage of the middle season sales... Crazy, I bought 3 pairs of sunglasses for £6 in Topshop!

Tra l'altro sto approfittando dei saldi di mezza stagione... Ebbene sì, avete capito bene: di mezza stagione!! Robe da pazzi, ho preso 3 paia di occhiali da sole da Topshop per 6 pounds!


I know that you were waiting for a post by Camilla but she's really busy with her midterms... She will finish next week ;)

So che vi aspettavate un post di Camilla ma è davvero molto occupata con gli esami parziali... Finirà settimana prossima ;)



I just decided to show you a park of Glasgow in the meanwhile, Glasgow Green... It's really nice! I was wearing one of my typical university outfits :P

Nel frattempo ho deciso di mostrarvi un parco di Glasgow, il Glasgow Green... E' davvero carino! Colgo l'occasione per mostrarvi uno dei miei tipici outfits universitari quassù :P
